Being a Stranger
Being a Stranger is the first publication – a chap book – by women writing architecture (publishing). It is a report on a two-day workshop in Switzerland that is represented by a constellation of images and texts.
In the early autumn of 2023, Tisch Zwei Verein invited six women to the room and garden that are the association’s headquarters in the rural-industrial village of Ennenda, Glarus (Switzerland). They came for a two-day residential workshop around the theme of Being a Stranger. Each woman had an element of displacement in her life – perhaps generational, or life-long, or ephemeral, but mostly a layering of all of these, which gave her insight and experience of what it feels like to be a stranger. The six participants were: Reem Almannai, Yagmur Kültür, Solange Mbanefo, Melinda Nadj Abonji, Natália Peťková, Jaehee Shin.
